Depression Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA)
DBSA is the largest patient run advocacy program for patients with mood disorders.

Postpartum Support International (PSI)
PSI is the oldest advocacy organization for mothers. They have representatives from each of the 50 states and Canada, South Africa and Australia. Their program has been predominantly one-to-one peer support and a website that is loaded with medical and other information.

Bio-behavioral Branch, NIH

The bio-behavioral Branch consists of research scientists at the National Institutes of Health. Their area of study is hormonal sensitivity to abrupt changes in hormones. This sensitivity is present throughout these women's lives and is manifest as severe mood disturbance beginning with puberty. This hormonal sensitivity is present in only a percentage of women who develop perinatal psychiatric disorders. They are studying the effects of medication and other interventions for these women.

As they are always in search of patients for their studies they offer scientific oversight and provide bibliographies of the latest literature in the field. In return, they are listed as a link on our website.
