EASTON, MD (June 9, 2008) – FMHI and the Perinatal Depression Coalition met today to discuss programs and partnerships to fight PPD in rural eastern Maryland. FMHI Medical Director, Dr. Ralph Wittenberg, and marketing strategy consultant, Amanda Styron, brainstormed with the Coalition about various issues they face including grassroots marketing, consistent venues for their monthly Mother’s Coffee Breaks, and continuing education credits for pediatricians interested in presentations on depression screening and treatment.
The Perinatal Depression Coalition is an excellent model of community support for PPD. For more information, please visit their information page hosted by the Mental Health Association in Talbot County.
